Dr. John Totera brings his wealth of experience and expertise to Sage Dental, joining us from New Jersey. He obtained his dental degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ, now known as Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, in 1983. Before that, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA.

With over four decades of private practice under his belt, Dr. Totera has not only honed his skills but also served as a mentor to many young dentists throughout his career. He is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association.

For Dr. Totera, dentistry is both an art and a science, and his passion for the field is evident in the care he provides to his patients. Having relocated to Florida with his family, he is actively involved in his church and is a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.

With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Totera specializes in Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, creating beautiful smiles for his patients. He is also certified in injectables such as Botox and Fillers, expanding his repertoire of services. By participating in continued education seminars, he ensures he remains up-to-date in all disciplines of dentistry, delivering the highest level of care to his patients and their families. Dr. Totera strives to make each visit comfortable and provides a positive experience for all.

Fluent in both English and Italian, Dr. Totera is ready to serve patients with diverse backgrounds and ensure effective communication throughout their dental journey.

Dr. Alvaro Garcia was born and raised in Madrid, Spain. In 2016, He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University Complutense of Madrid. He then pursued further education and earned a Master’s in Oral Implantology from the University of Seville.

With several years of experience as a general dentist, Dr. Garcia dedicated himself to providing comprehensive patient care. Additionally, he took great pleasure in sharing his knowledge as a part-time clinical instructor at the European University Miguel de Cervantes, where he mentored post-graduate students.

Seeking new horizons in his career, Dr. Garcia set his sights on the United States. He attended the Advanced Education of General Dentistry program at the University of Connecticut, where he honed his skills even further. During this time, he discovered his true passion for Endodontics, leading him to pursue specialized training in the field at the University of Connecticut, where he obtained his specialist certificate.

Dr. Garcia is a member of professional organizations, including the American Association of Endodontics and the American Dental Association. Through active involvement in these associations, he remains up-to-date with the latest advancements and techniques in the field. He has also published multiple scientific articles about general dentistry and endodontics in some of the top journals in the field, such as the Journal of Endodontics.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Garcia finds joy in his personal life. He cherishes spending time outdoors with his family, enjoying the beautiful Tampa Bay beaches, or having cozy movie nights together.

Dr. Jeffrey Ingalls is a distinguished board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with a remarkable military career spanning over a decade. His service includes a deployment to Afghanistan, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his exceptional contributions. Dr. Ingalls served as the officer in charge at his clinic and the surgical chief for the oral and maxillofacial surgery department. He also served as an assistant professor at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, instructing residents at Martin Army Community Hospital at Ft. Moore (Benning), GA. Recently promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Ingalls received the distinguished Meritorious Service Medal for his service in the United States Army.

Born in Montgomery, Alabama, and raised in Kennesaw, Georgia, Dr. Ingalls graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Georgia. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed his advanced general dentistry (AEGD) education at Ft. Moore, GA. Dr. Ingalls pursued his passion for oral surgery at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, where he completed his residency and served as chief resident.

Dr. Ingalls is an expert in oral and maxillofacial surgery, focusing on facial reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, trauma, TMJ disorders, pathology, dental implants, and pediatric surgery. He has also worked in a specialized practice in Atlanta, Georgia, focusing on pediatric surgery and sedation. Dr. Ingalls is an active member of the American Dental Association, a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

When not working or teaching, Dr. Ingalls enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashley, and their three children. He is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying activities on the water, fishing, and attending sporting events. Dr. Ingalls is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to his patients and remains committed to staying updated with the latest advancements in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
